Jamie Worrall Carion

Jamie Worrall is a 26 year-old painter from the East Coast of the United States. Born to an Ecuadorian mother and father from Massachusetts, she has just recently come to know her South American roots.

After graduating from Skidmore College with a degree in Studio Art, Jamie moved to Cuenca, Ecuador where she studied, traveled, worked, and lived for four years, all the while internalizing the culture in a struggle to become
part of it. These paintings are not only memories and observations, but also textures and feelings from her life in Latin America.

*Synthesis and Identity: Paintings from Ecuador* is her second solo exhibition at Mimosa Gallery. She is currently writing a thesis dissertation entitled *Resented Privilege: Portraying Conflicts of Cultural Identity through Contemporary Art.*

Educate yourself about the art and artists that you are interested in. This will pay off when it comes time to make a purchase.

One way to accomplish this, is to join us for our monthly "Meet Me At Mimosa" luncheons. On Wednesday, July 11th, local artist, Carolyn Justice, who's work "Saratoga - Night and Day" is currently exhibited at Mimosa, will discuss the Impressionist painters who have inspired her.

Attendance is limited, so call 518-583-1163 to reserve a spot.

Lorraine Chesin

"We are excited to present the exhibition, "Let's Play" by local artist Lorraine Chesin.

The exhibit of paintings runs through May 27th. An Opening Reception was be held on Saturday, April 28th from 4-7pm.

The artist states that "...the space and subject matter of the work comes from a joy of life and the pleasure being of a certain age and having time to experiment. Chesin - Pat's Still Life reinterpreted" Since retiring many years as a Social Worker, she has returned to her first love - making art. This has given her the opportunity to put her life experiences into forms and color and thereby celebrate the fruits of labor both from her professional work and from her personal journey.

Chesin's artwork, which has come from a lifetime of introspection and endurance, is intended to convey a freedom to express pain and joy. It is also intended to inspire the viewer to wonder about the images and to indulge themselves in reverie of what the images elicit from their own life experience.
